Our Commitments
We are passionate about making choices that have a positive impact on the planet our children and future generations will inherit.
We believe that the technology exists to make products and packaging that are eco-friendly, and we’re committed to using them.
Packaging and Paper
All our packaging (boxes and packing tape) is made from sustainably sourced, recycled materials that are fully recyclable and compostable.
Our printed materials (stickers, tags, booklets etc) are created using soy or vegetable-based inks. This ensures that our products do not leave petroleum-based waste behind while decomposing. These inks also have low levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which means cleaner air during the printing process. Win!
We use recycled stock (wherever possible) and ensure that all paper products have been sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified suppliers.
Plastics
Plastic is an excellent insulator of electricity and we would struggle not to use it somewhere in our products. Having said that, we are constantly on the lookout for alternative materials and ways to help turn existing plastic waste into something useful. For example, the pencil cases in our Discovery Kits are made from recycled plastic bottles! Cool, hey?!
Reusable
The last thing we want to do is add to the growing amount of waste ending up in landfill and our oceans. That’s why we design our packaging and products to be reusable (to go beyond a single use).
The contents of our Discovery Kits have been chosen to support open-ended play and we regularly post ideas about how to get creative with our packaging. Check out our #beyondthebox campaign for ideas. We all know that sometimes a box can be more fun than the toy inside!
